Barb's Wire

It was another beautiful day for shootin'.  Thirty-one shooters turned out.  We had a few that were visiting our club for the first time, one trying CAS for the first time and two soldiers and one airman just recently returned from "The Sandbox".  The Allenwood Kid, Happy Valley Harlot (my kids) and Still Thinking received a warm cowboy welcome and lots of thank-yous from us.

We announced that Dennis (Mad Tanner) & Sallie Yoder (Shaky Sallie) benefit shoot - Dennis has just recently been diagnosed with cancer.  They have been long time supporters of the state match and refer many shooters to our club.  For more information on this match please contact me.  After winning the 50-50, Coal Stoves donated it to the fund for Dennis.  El Posse Grande has donated a main match and a spouse/significant other registration to North Mountain Shoot Out X to the Chinese Auction at the benefit.

Congratulations to Dodge Bill and Lt Lucious Clay on their clean matches!

Loose Gun wasn't quite himself following a face-to-face encounter with his boat.  Understandably, his thoughts were more on his pain.  He asked Doc to help him out with this month's scenarios.  Doc came up with some nice shooting sequences and left the stories to me.  With a little help from The Allenwood Kid we came up with some good stories which reflected some recent stories shared with our family and friends.  Most of these stories revolved around our Friday night socializing at a local saloon with Doc's brother's and other family members.

Congratulations to Doc Allan Wood on receipt of his Regulator badge.  It's a well-deserved honor, but then I am a little prejudiced!

August is our annual underwear shoot!  Get ready!

Thoughts Of An Old Gunfighter

It has been mentioned to me that maybe we should post the round count every month before a shoot. Since we most always shoot six stages, you should always bring a minimum of 60 Pistol rounds, 60 Rifle rounds, and 36 shotgun rounds. That will get you through the course 99% of the time. Always bring at least two boxes of shotgun shells just in case you miss. Now double that so you can give some to your pards.

If anyone wants to see something in a scenario, just e-mail me and I'll see what I can do

Just a few thoughts of an old gunfighter.
